This graphic shows a racket that was used for only 2 weeks but the edge of the rubber started to break up. As you can see it happened only on one side, cause for this is, player contacts the table when pushing or chopping with his backhand. All rubber sheets will do this, no matter where the rubber was made or from which Manufacturer it came from.

 

Customers sometimes complain about this but the modern table tennis rubber is very soft to create more spin and speed. Rubber sheets could be made harder so they would last longer but speed, spin and control would be much less.
